Bienvenidos al Trabajo

Familia! It is so great to hear from you all! I have been looking forward to being able to let you all know how I am doing here en la Ciudad de México, First of all, this place really is like a sanctuary in this area. Driving from the México City airport to the CCM was a new experience. I thought it was nerve-wracking to drive with some people I thought were "bad drivers" but my eyes were opened a little bit, it was an intense thirty minutes haha. I actually did hear about the Finals through the grapevine, kind of a bummer. It´s funny the kind of stuff that we think about to get us through the day. The campus here is beautiful! I will try to include some pictures for you all.

Dad--Happy Father´s day! I hope it was a great day, I´m glad to hear it was nice and relaxing. The woman at the post office here assured me that there wouldn´t be too much of a problem receiving letters, so I would love to get that blessing on paper. I want you to know I love you and am so grateful for your example and help in getting me to where I am!

Glad to hear Mallory´s temple session went well. I love the temple, I wish I could have been there for that. I am a little bummed I won´t be able to attend the México City Temple, but we will go to the visitor´s center on one of our p-days so I´m looking forward to that. At times (a lot of the time) it is difficult and frustrating not knowing the language, or not feeling like I am progressing. But then I try to remind myself that I haven´t even been here a full week and I´m progressing little by little. Spanish is harder than I thought it would be to learn, but at least I´ve got the native accent down I guess haha,

Mom--Thank you for taking such good care of my sweetheart. I am glad to hear that she is in good hands. I want YOU to know that your home-cooked meals are sorely missed haha. The food is okay, but it´s still cafeteria food. I had chicken and chile verde tamales the other day for breakfast.. That was a little different haha. Some meals are better than others, but they´re not like the good auténtico stuff.

I met up with a couple missionaries from Idaho in the Denver airport. That is a super long airport, I probably walked about a mile all the way down to my terminal for Houston. It seemed like everywhere I went, someone asked me if I was a missionary and then said they served and a few words of encouragement. One of the guys checking my bags in Pasco said he served and then that gentleman with the army stuff in Pascosat behind me on my flight to Denver and told me good luck and a few other things. It was nice. Good for Cally! (sorry if that´s not spelled right) I´m sure she deserved to win. I´m glad Aunt Paula made it safe and sound. That would be pretty scary. I got some turbulence, but that was all thankfully. My companion has been a struggle, but my district is awesome so that helps. It seems that is usually the case. It is just frustrating at times, but I am doing my best to emulate the Savior in all I do. I have a really good buddy in my district named Elder Dallimore who is also going to LA, we get along really well. As for my e-mails: I ONLY want the family to read them...Just kidding. Send them to whoever wants them, they´ll probably get bored of them after a while, but I´ll do my best to keep it interesting haha.

It is obvious to me that this is the Lord´s work. It could not and would not be any other way. We had a devotional Sunday night with a couple videos: one of that good brother Moyle, the stone cutter. And another one about finding faith in Christ. It was a great opportunity to refocus on the real reason why I´m here. Thank you for all your love and support! I´m having some trouble getting my pictures up, so I guess I´ll have to try to figure that out later. Until next week!
